Are you sure you want to make your group "private", or do you want it "hidden"?

A "private" group has these features:
* This group will be listed in the groups directory and in search results.
* Only users who request membership and are accepted can join the group.
* Group content and activity will only be visible to members of the group.

A "hidden" group has these features:
* Only users who are invited can join the group.
* This group will not be listed in the groups directory or search results.
* Group content and activity will only be visible to members of the group.

How to make your group private OR hidden

  1. To make your group private OR hidden, you must be a group admin (creator of the group) and logged in.
  2. Go to the group's home page
  3. Once there, click the "Admin" link in the light grey menu bar
  4. Once on the Admin page click the "Group Settings" link below the grey menu bar
  5. From there you will be able to select to make your group public, private or hidden.
  6. You can also enable or disable the group forum from this page, if desired.
